He’ll pass the ball forty yards
He’s big and he’s fookin hard

Kuyt equalizes on the end of Gerrard’s enterprising move into the box 2 minutes after Adebayor’s opener.
The scoring was in the first half. Adebayor’s header from a corner kick came in the 23rd minute, after two close chances from van Persie (who was subbed at the half). Arsenal have an interesting isolation move on set pieces from the side of the box: the four men lined up seem to rotate while Adebayor ends up unmarked right between the spot and the 5 yard box. Looks hard to defend.
Kuyt’s goal came in the 25th minute: Gerrard took it all on his shoulders and beat two men before putting it across the goalmouth for Kuyt.
Walcott in and lots of excitement in the 2nd half. Four Arsenal players brought yellow cards into the match, leaving not much Mickey Mouse for Mr Vink to deal with. The ref had a fine match, himself.
If Arsenal complain about Hleb being brought down in the box by Kuyt, they’ll need also to own up to the distrust referees undoubtedly feel toward a team which tends to flap around too much. Like Clichy, pictured here.
An absorbing, open game of football sees Liverpool gain the away-goal advantage for a 1-1 first of three matches this week (one in the EPL).
