Liverpool are indeed very lucky team
2005 CL: Linesman’s goal. They go on to win CL.
2006 FA Cup: Penalties. Penalties are sheer luck. Win the FA cup.
2007 CL: Same as above then they reach final.

May be thats why they dont win league. I’m sure any scouser will say “we dont have resources to win PL”. Then how the hell do you have resources to reach CL semis/finals? Team is same. Manager is same. Tactics are same. Fans are same. Whats the different? Oh…sheer stroke of LUCK!!!!!!!!!1

Good point, Matt.

Hleb was certainly a handful, as awkward as he is. And it is a credit to Kuyt & Benitez that Kuyt — a front-runner — stayed with Hleb like the overalls of a barge-captain from Leyden.

[I recall Rooney tracking back similarly on the flanks 1st leg against Roma.]

Hleb did not ultimately draw much blood.

Wenger & Hleb ought to consider getting Hleb in positions away from any close marker … rather than expect the ref to give them the match.

Arsenal must stop flopping if they want luck to begin to work on their side. They’re clearly able to take the 2nd leg, but Liverpool will not be giving it to them.

That pic doesn’t look like the penalty box encounter – I don’t recall Kuyt being in that position when Hleb went down.

Kuyt may have given him a tug but Hleb went down awful easy. Shocking I know.

And as far as “karma” is concerned Torres has been kicked all over the pitch all season with few penalties called and little complaint.

Your “analysis” needs a little fine tuning.

I’m not a supporter of either Arsenal or Liverpool, but I’d say that the scousers got away with a WHOLE lot of funny business on defense the other night. These karmic things do have a way of evening out, tho.

As well as Arsenal play, I do wish they would stop whining.

They share that arrogant entitlement United have. I think Wenger sets a poor example complaining about the ref all the time. The object is to get goals. Shy of that & a nickle, complaining won’t get you to Highbury.
