Rio’s Ankle Unclear
By: Sam | April 8th, 2008
Conditions will be ideal for AS Roma on Wedneday evening if Sir Alex encourages Rio Ferdinand to play in their Champions League 2nd-leg at Old Trafford on a 70-percent ankle. Not only would Rio not be himself but his partnership with whomever substitutes for Nemanja Vidić — his usual better-half — will de-stabilize the Manchester United back line.
Scan is clear of big damage, but Rio will have a fitness check Wednesday morning. They may be considering pain-killers — which, itself, could put United’s EPL bid into touch.

Is Fergie playing mind games like Jose? I still remember Jose’s master stroke agaist Barca in 2005 where he named both the teams in pre match conference and said Dufy is injured. Then Duff started the match to score an important away goal.
