Begining Of End
By: Adam | February 19th, 2008Rafa is walking on the thin line today. Whatever has happened in Barnsley game, Rafa is certainly on the borrowed time. And he has to prove in every round of CL (henceforth) that he is the right candidate. They not only have problems off the field but also on the pitch too. Fans don’t trust owners. Owners don’t trust manager. Players are confused about whats happening. Whole thing is so mired that you will think “what the heck is going on?”. And this results into “poor” performances on pitch.
Rafa’s rotation policy is partly responsible for that. His admirers say that he was never offered funds like Chelsea or Man Utd. But Barnsley’s whole budget is 1/15th of that of Liverpool’s. West Ham has half of budget of Liverpool still they managed to beat them. There will be millions of excuses but at the end of the day its Manager who has to take the responsibility.
Rafa says that he is fully committed to the job. Liverpool’s position in the league is precarious. Liverpool’s new owners had a tough time financing loans for the club. And the American owners won’t take the risk of missing out in CL qualification for next season (i.e. top 4 for next week) thus resulting of loss of revenues. End has begun for Rafa’s reign. And if they loose to Inter which seems to be likely situation then he will be packing his bag.

Next month, you’re going to see me in a straight jacket mumbling, “WE CAN STILL DO IT! WE STILL HAVE TIME!”
