Lyon Vs Bayern Munich Liveblog

By: Rob | September 30th, 2008

Ribery Will PlayTonights biggest game is in the Gourp of Death as French Champions Lyon take on German Champions Bayern Munich. Bayern have started badly in the German league this season, but got off to a winning start last time out in the CL. Lyon have started well in the French League, but only picked up a point after a fightback against Fiorentina last time out. I’ll be following the game here on the Champions League Offside, And would be very happy if you’d come back and enjoy it with me.

At the Moment is looks like you can stream from HERE.

Full Liveblog after the score and jump.

Lyon 1 – 1 Bayern Munich

Demichelis og 25
Ze Roberto 52

Full Time Apparently 1-1. Not a disaster for Bayern, but presumably Lyon will be the happier of the two sides with getting a point. Thanks for going through that with me, I struggled at times, but it was fun.

- My streamer has turned over. Again.

- Juninho off, Boumsong on. Not what I’d have wanted to do, but I think Juninho might have a knock.

84 – Makoun is lucky to be on the pitch, already booked, he lunged in there and gave Bayern a FK.

82 – Toni pokes a weak shot at the Lyon keeper. Not his finest night.

80 – Ribery off, Borrowiski on.

79 – Oddo cross headed away easily by Cris.

77 – Ribery hits the wall with the FK.

76 – Cris has been booked for daring to jump with Luca Toni. Maybe its more for the dissent afterwards.

74 – Good chance for Lyon, a break into the box, but scrambled away by the Bayern defence.

- Ooh he’s switched back. How good of him.

- My stream has started cycling through the nights games. So I can tell you that Arsenal are 4-0 thanks to an Adebayour pen.

67 – Lyon had a good break on, but stopped by a fantastic tackle from Lucio.

64 – Ribery cuts inside dangerously, but his shot hits the side netting.

62 – Juninho has a FK 5 yards in from teh halfway line, and every Bayern player is back for it. Nothing comes of it but I thought that was a testament to Juninho’s ability.

60 – Makoun is in the book for a foul.

58 – Klose goes into the book for a foul on Juninho. Wait, Juninho booked as well. Not sure. I guess dissent.

56 – Luca Toni has another chance, but the Lyon defence snuffs it out.

54 – Chance for Lyon to get right back in it, but Benzema can’t quite get on the end of a cross for a tap in.

52 – GOAL – Ze Roberto heads in a Miroslav Klose cross, with ease into the top corner. It’s been on the cards frankly, as good as Lyon have been defensively.

51 – Luca Toni showing his Euro 2008 form, he just stuck another header wide.

49 – Demichelis evening just got worse, booked for a nasty tackle on Toulalan.

48 – Toni is in, Onside….He’s put it over the bar! He has to hit the target there.

47 – Dangerous Bayern cross, Toni doesn’t connect.

46 – another Bayern CK cleared at the near post.

45 – Lyon kick off the second half.

About to KO the second half. Teams out on the pitch.

- Franz Beckenbaur has just been talking on my stream. In German unfortunatly.

You can see what’s going on across the Champions League HERE. Meanwhile, My stream seems steady now its Half Time, so hopefully should be all good second half, its here if you want it.

Half Time – All the excitement seemed to come when I couldn’t get a stream to work. Lyon lead thanks to a Juninho FK, deflected in by the Bayern defence. Since the goal Bayern have just tried to play possesion football, and defensively look a completely different side from the one that took on Fiorentina. The Boumsong effect I suppose.

43 – Bayern seem to be playing for corners, not too bad a tactic when you have Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni up front. Neither can get on the end of Ribery’s balls so far though.

- Typically the game seems to have slowed right down now i have a steadyish stream.

38 – Bayern threw the ball around for ages there, eventually a ball comes into the box and Toni heads wide.

- Bayern appear to be having a good bit of possesion here, but not too much cutting edge.

- Gouvou is injured for Lyon and is coming off. Ederson is on.

34 – Bayern just had a good break but it was cleaned up by Cris. He’s no Boumsong.

I’m back btw, theoretically at least.

25 – GOAL Lyon have scored! Juninho FK takes a touch from Demichelis, and lands in the back of the net! 1-0 Lyon.

I still haven’t got my stream back, so to fill you in on what I’ve missed, from other Liveblogs,

- Mensah booked for Lyon, Lahm Produced a great save from Lloris, Lyon had a free kick that resulted in a wild shot over the crossbar.

- Oh dear, now my internet went down. Back when I can be.

14 – Long ranger from Reveillere, just wide.

11 – Lost the stream again there, but back to see a good chance for Lyon, Juninho crossed Fred got on the end, but tipped over the bar!

8 – Lahm shows what a threat he is as he slices thru the Lyon defence. Straight at the keeper though.

6 – Luca Toni just had a great chance, headed onto the roof of the net from a Lahm ball.

4 – Missed a great chance for Lyon. Juninho took a FK which Mensah almost met at the far post, goes out for a GK.

ACK, my stream is down already. Bear with my readers.

2 – Long FK for Toni goes out for a GK.

1- We’re off.

Ugh – I’m gonna struggle to tell between yellow and white on this stream.

About to Kick Off here. Could be one of the matches of the group stage right here.

Lineups, gleefully stolen from the Lyon Offside:

Lloris
Reveillere – Cris – Bodmer – Mensah
Juninho – Toulalan – Makoun
Govou – Fred – Benzema

Rensing
Oddo – Breno – Lucio – Lahm
Schweinsteiger – Demichelis – Ze Roberto – Ribery
Klose – Toni

20 Mins to KO – Hello, I’m here. Really, Really looking forward to this. Hopefully some Offsiders will join me to watch it. Two really good sides on thier day, fingers crossed they hit full speed today.

Really unfortunate for Demichelis — he calls himself a son of the club, and I imagine he’s pretty down right now. Hope Klinsmann can deliver one of his famous self esteem speeches and rally the men. Come on, Bayern!

Incidentally, it sounds like it’s time for Toni to come off and Poldi on.
