So here is your print out and then cut out and keep and then lose guide to the draw tomorrow. Who’s seeded (not Real Madrid) who’s going to get a tough group, and so on.

Basically teams from the same pot, and same nation can’t be drawn together. So everyone from pot 1 will be drawn out into a group of their own, then will be joined from a team each from pot 2, and three and so on. Except for “excitement” they’ll probably start with Pot 4.

Ok the teams in each pot.

Pot 1 – Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Milan, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Sevilla

Pot 2 – Lyon, Inter, Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow, FC Porto, AZ, Juventus, and Rangers

Pot 3 – Olympiacos, Marseille, Dynamo Kiev, Stuttgart, Fiorentina, Atlético Madrid, Bordeaux and Besiktas,

Pot 4 – Wolfsburg, Standard, Maccabi Haifa, Zurich, Rubin Kazan, Unirea Urzicini, APOEL and Debrecen

So obviously each group will get one team from each pot, which leaves open plenty of opportunity for groups of death. Certainly pots 2 and 3 have some teams that the big boys will really want to avoid. I’m excited. Which leaves me with one thing. Here’s the Liveblog. See you tomorrow.

Which are todays games? Sporting Lisbon take on Fiorentina, Timisoara take on Stuttgart, and Arsenal take on Celtic in the Non-Champions side of things. In the Champions side, Copenhagen take on APOEL and familiar faces abound as Sheriff take on Olympiacos.

Honestly, there is almost certainly going to be goals in this game. Neither side is particuarly renown for defence (and Barca will probably have Puyol at Left Back, while Lucio is out for Bayern) but just look at the talent they have going forward! Messi! Toni! Xavi! Henry! Ribery! Eto’o! I wouldn’t be that surprised to see them all get on the scoresheet.

Barca, especially at home, are of course favourites. They’d be favourites against any team in the world right now, rightly as they’ve scored 122 goals in all competitions. They are only joint top scorers in the Champions League with…thats right, Bayern Munich, after the latters 13 goal demolition of Sporting Lisbon.

It’s a big cliché in England, but you do not write of The Germans. They are notorious over performers, and I imagine Luca Toni is going to be able to exploit one of Barca’s weaknesses, ie anything in the air.

Anyway, The liveblog kicks off here at about 7pm GMT, so be sure to come back and make sure I’m not just talking to myself. That’d be rubbish.

These teams have previous of course, in the 2005/6 Champions League Semi Final, they met and Arsenal went through 1-0 over two legs. Juan Roman Riquelme had a last minute penalty in that match, but he blew it. Hoping for more goals that that today.
